Joan Colt Hooper is interested
in space through values, shapes and color. Most of her themes have to do with
the sea. She has always lived by the sea, heard and felt the roll of the ocean,
lap of the waves, storms, fog and the calmness of the sea. It is the calmness
and serenity that is most appealing to her.
Joan lives in Marblehead and graduated from Tufts Unifersity. She is a signature
member of the American Society of Marine Artists and also a signature member
of the International Society of Marine Painters. She is an Artist Member of
the Copley Society of Art. Joan is represented by the Lyford Cay Gallery in
Nassau, Bahamas and the Atelier Gallery in Sarasota, lorida. She is published
in A Gallery of Marine Art compiled by Jerry McClish.
Joan has exhibited in over 14 One Woman Shows and participated in many juried
Group Shows. She has won numerous prizes.
