Biography:
CARLEEN M MUNIZ, born May 25th, 1947, Gloucester, Massachusetts, member of the North Shore Arts Association, Rockport Art Association, and the Academic Artists Association, and maintains a year-round studio in West Gloucester.

Carleen Muniz started her painting career in 1975 and studied under Cape Ann artist Charles Movalli. This artistic influence is demonstrated in her strong impressionist works which are true to the Gloucester Style. Awards include the Popular Award Exhibition I NSAA 2006 Paul Strisik Memorial Award NSAA 2004, Popular Award Exhibition I NSAA 2004, The Janice Z Ulan Memorial Award NSAA 2004, North Shore Arts Association award, NSAA 1997; Gordon Grant Award, NSAA 1992; Martha Moore Memorial Award, RAA 1987; and the Chrislee Darrand Award , RAA 1986. Publications include American Artists Magazine, February 2001 and the Gloucester Daily Times’ featured “Artists Around the Cape”, February 1989.
