Biography:
Dennis Poirier grew up with the sights and sounds of Gloucester in the 1960's.
The colorful active waterfront from that time was the first inspiration to
painting material which continues to attract him today.
He was the first student at the Gloucester Academy of Fine Art in 1977 and
is proud to have been inspired by and taught by Cape Ann's finest artists
among them, John Terelak, Don Stone,Paul Strisik, Sal Grasso and Tom Nicholas.
He is a member of both North Shore and Rockport Art Associations, the Copley
Society of Art (Copley Artist), Oil Painters of America, and the American
Society of Marine Artists.
He has exhibited at Allied Artists, Salmagundi Club, Academic Artists Association,
Knickerbocker Artists, American Artist's Professional League, Hudson Valley
Arts Association.
He has won several awards in these and other shows.
