Artist: Jeff Weaver

Drawing and painting have been life long pursuits for Jeff Weaver. A Massachusetts native, he began sketching and painting the waterfronts of Boston and Gloucester at the young age of fifteen. Jeff moved to Gloucester in 1972, his first year as a student at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. The following year Jeff had a one-man, sold out show of his woodcut prints and drawings at the Harvard Coop Gallery, Cambridge. For over 30 years, weathered houses, packing plants, fishing boats, and those who work them have all served as subject matter for his art. Jeff paints in a representational style using strong light and dark values and animated brushwork to create dynamic compositions. His award winning work has been shown at many galleries; including the Marine Arts Gallery, Salem; the Maritime Gallery at Mystic Seaport, the Rockport Art Association, and the North Shore Arts Association. His well known and loved murals are found throughout Cape Ann.
