In October 2003, The North Shore Arts Association hosted the first Tithing Our Talents event at their gallery in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The North Shore Arts Association, one of the oldest and most distinguished art associations in the country, sponsored seven days of workshops in oil and watercolor painting taught by some of their finest artist members. Over one hundred people attended and the event raised over $13,000 for Wellspring House, a Gloucester foundation committed to participating in the development of a just society through the use of its human resources, property and land.

Artist B.L. Schlemm, A.W.S., demonstrates her watercolor technique for a record crowd in the upstairs gallery of the North Shore Arts Association.

Tom Nicholas, N.A. offered an open critique
for all who wanted to bring paintings
for consideration.

In addition the event raised over $3,000 for other organizations of the participating artists' choice.

Please visit their On-Line Journal of the event to see pictures and share in the special gifts the artist members gave to those taking the workshops and the gift they all made to the town of Gloucester!

The NSAA's Tithing Our Talents event will be featured in the November/December issue of PORTFOLIO Magazine.
