Parlez-Moi Blog Since its beginning in July 2005 this blog has had over 75,000 visitors and averages 100+ visitors a day. It is updated four times a week (usually). Most of the blog posts concern books and writing but occasionally there are entries about knitting, sewing, and life in Gloucester. This blog has been featured on news sites nation-wide including the Houston Chronicle web site and Boston.com. Comments are welcomed. This blog contains directions for Kathleen's Mermaid Shawl (left) which has been made by knitters around the world. Valentine Cookbook In 1981 Kathleen wrote a cookbook based on old family recipes with the intention of giving it to family members. The cookbook was discovered by a Food Editor for the Erie Daily Times in Erie, Pennsylvania. He wrote a total of three columns about the book and drove to St. Marys, Pennsylvania to visit Mary Ann Valentine, Kathleen's mother, and taste some of her good cooking. The cookbook was revised and expanded in 1992. Readers often comment on the richness of writing in Kathleen's books and stories, including descriptions of food. This blog is a combination of recipes for the food mentioned in stories and recipes from the Valentine Family & Friends Cookbook. It also contains old family photographs and memories from the past. The blog is a recent creation and is growing as time allows.
