On the left is a close-up with numbering to show how I began to work in the first lace pattern. I call this the "Fin Lace". On the first tier I worked one lace section, three stockinette sections, one lace section, etc. On the second tier I worked three lace sections, one stockinette section, three, etc. On the third tier I worked an all lace section. I decided to add a fourth tier, also all lace before beginning the second lace pattern.

This is a close up of the center back so you can see how the lace is worked around that back section rib. You also have the option to work the lace in just two tiers as I explained in the second set of instructions.

This is a closeup of the Fins lace.

This is Stage 3. You can see how the second lace pattern is beginning to work in.

This gorgeous thing is another shawl pin created by my friend Leslie Wind. Leslie hand makes each of her pins in brass or silver and they are exquisite. They start at $25 and she will mail them out to you wherever you are. Call her at 978-546-6539 and visit her web site at. www.LeslieWind.com (although we haven't gotten the pins on it yet.)
